Best flat water & beginner kitespot: The best and most famous flat water kitespot is Prasonisi, the south end of the island (80km away), and Wetskillz organizes trips there. Theologos kite beach is another option that’s great for beginners and less crowded.
Best wave kitespot: There is no proper wave spot in the summertime. Kite beach is ideal for beginners on a surfboard with some small waves coming late afternoon (around 17.00-18.00).
Notable downwinders: Wetskillz organizes downwinders a couple times a week.
Significant wind patterns: The Meltemi wind provides a nice thermal boost that kicks in every afternoon. Most wind forecasts are not accurate for Rhodes, but if the direction is correct (WNW) then you should expect good wind.
After-kite food & drink recommendations: Wetskills organizes a bonfire once a week at the kitespot. Theologos village has a few options; Megusta bar and Billy’s place are favorites. And if you’re looking for a serious party, all you have to do is head into Rhodes city (20km away from kite spot) where there is hundreds of options.
